Irenevak asked:
I love all of your shawls! I'm using a lot of your ideas for my Prayer Shawl Ministry....Thank you! I'm interested in knowing how you block your shawl's? Thanks much!
CorrineMB answered:
Thank you! Oh, I love a prayer shawl ministry! These are all great patterns to add to the repertoire! My standard way of blocking a shawl is to soak it in water mixed with Eucalan (a specialty wash from the yarn shop than doesn't need to be rinsed out). Then I carefully press out the water after soaking at least 20 minutes. No twisting, just pressing & pressing. Then I roll it up in a clean beach towel (or big bath towel) and stand on it. LOL Yes, I do that. The towel wicks up more water. Then I gently push it into shape on a set of foam mats on my floor, and pin them with rust-proof t-pins. After a day or so, they are done. This rwlaly opens up the stitches and allows for that great drape you like!
