Soft Owl Pillow

Project Description

What was your source for this crocheting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Little Crochet (book) Link to website or photo www.amazon.com/Soft-Owl-Pillow--Pattern-ebook/dp/B006JHKKK8/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1324101891&sr=1-1 What are you most proud of? I like that the crocheted case is removeable (via a zipper) so that the pillow is actually washable. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be careful when you get to the part where you join rounds--it's very easy to add an extra stitch at the end of each round. Count before you join the round to ensure you aren't accidentally working the slip stitch join from the previous round.

What you will need

  • Worsted weight wool (cascade 220)
  • crochet hook
  • fabric
  • stuffing
  • zipper.

Q&A with Linda Permann

Laurie S asked:
Where is the pattern for the owl pillow? I'd love to make this for my niece who is graduating from college today. I would need to get it done within 2 weeks.
Linda Permann answered:
The pattern is available in my book, Little Crochet: Modern Designs for Babies and Toddlers. (You can buy it on Amazon or at your local book shop). I'm glad you like it--I thinkn it's definitely doable in 2 weeks. :)

PamelaJane asked:
I am thinking about making this for my son who is going to college this fall. His college mascot is an owl. Any idea on the dimensions? And do I have to install a zipper on the crocheted part? That would be a deal breaker for me.
Linda Permann answered:
There's a no-zipper option included. The finished dimensions are 17" tall by 14" wide.
