Quite Lovely Afghan

Project Description

What was your source for this crocheting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo DROPS 120-3 Link to website or photo www.garnstudio.com/lang/us/pattern.php?id=4478&lang=us What are you most proud of? I'm really happy with how this turned out, especially the color combination I choose. I made this as an anniversary gift for my daughter and son-in-law, and its loveliness so suits my daughter. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This pattern was not very clear in some places but have patience with it. If you have trouble understanding a pattern, slowly read it out loud to yourself and follow one stitch at a time.

Q&A with nancy4taichi

jenkinsm1544399 asked:
this is beautiful what pattern did you use for the border?
nancy4taichi answered:
I didn't have a written pattern, but here is what I did. I already had ch-3 loops around the outside edge (sc in first st, ch 3, skip 2 sts and sc in next st) if you did a flat braid joining method, then you already have the ch-3 loops done. In the loop on the right side of a corner, sc, in corner loop{ 4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc}; *sc in next loop, in next loop 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc.* Repeat from * to * around, doing the {4 dc, ch2, 4 dc} in the corners.

Thank you so much for answering my question. I have never heard of the flat braid joining method. Googled it & am planning to make this for my niece's wedding gift. You crochet beautifully. Thanks so much for posting. .

This is absolutely beautiful. You do beautiful work, and chose a lovely color combination. I think I am going to choose this pattern as my next one to make for a missionary family to our church. Thank you for sharing. You've got one lucky girl :)
