multicolor crochet bag

Project Description

What was your source for this crocheting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo crochet bag pattern Link to website or photo attic24.typepad.com/weblog/crochet-bag.html What are you most proud of? 1. I worked with a material I never had before and although it had its difficulties it turn out so great 2. I messed with the pattern a little (as far as the increasing and decreasing) to get the result I wanted (a little "more sack-than-bag") but I got away with it 3. the bag doesn't have any lining inside - the cord is really sturdy and it holds perfectly - but I wanted inside pockets (they don't appear in the photo, but they're there) so I used pockets from a safari pair of trousers and I hand sew them inside - it worked! - another thing I got away with What advice would you give someone starting this project? 1. if you use thick plastic cord (like I did) don't forget the silicone tube for your fingers - it really saves your fingers from scratching 2. don't be afraid to tighten the cord when every dc is finished (don't work sc in this one - dc is the best stitch and you'll finish a lot faster) - it will end up in giving your bag a firm hold when its finished - no lining needed 3. if thick plastic cord is your material of choice, make sure you tie your cord in the end of the round and begin the next a few stitches before or after the closing - because the cord is a hard medium, beginning at the same stitch (like almost every project you work in the round) will give an uneven stretch at that point - believe me, you don't want that 4. pace yourself - plastic cord is not like working with yarn - you'll get an hour of work but then stop (even if you don't feel your hands tired - it sneaks up on you and you'll feel it all the way up to your neck and shoulders)

What you will need

  • synthetic cord
