Lina's pot holder

What advice would you give someone starting this project? A very good project. I learnt not only the new stitches but also to make a nice cast on row, nice sides and a nice cast off row, although I later added a crochet edge. As it was made from left over cotton yarns, unfortunately not all of the same thickness, I have decided to give it to one of my daughters as a pot holder for her newly re-decorated kitchen, where the colour scheme will fit in very nicely.
