Pattern Details

This wolf in grandma's clothing crochet pattern is an enchanting and delightful bookmark/decoration to make for anyone who loves to read. It would make a delightful gift for wolf enthusiasts around the globe. It would make a perfect combination to go with the Little Red Riding Hood bookmark that I designed earlier. The pattern is a little more difficult than most of my bookmark patterns with the Front post dc and Back post dc and there are picture tutorials to help you through the process. If you have done a lot of thread crochet work, this one should cause you no problems. This pattern also includes a picture tutorial on making the wolf's reading glasses using craft wire. All my patterns are tested by other thread crocheters to catch errors. **This would make a delightful stocking stuffer or gift for any reader. **What a wonderful award for any academic achievement. **Any graduate would love this bookmark to remember that learning is a life-long process. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY The crochet stitches include, sc, hdc, dc, tr and sl st. It uses Front and Back post work on the dress. The pattern includes description of abbreviations and complete instructions. It also includes picture tutorials to help along the way. GAUGE 8 hdc = 1 inch (2.5cm), 5 hdc rows = 1 inch (2.5cm) SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished Size: 7 1/2 inches (19cm) long and 5 inches (12.75cm) wide

Recommended with this pattern

  • Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm). This is a larger size hook than usually used with thread crochet. Size 1 hook gives the needed guage to make the correct size of wolf and makes working with thread crochet easier for those who are not comfortable with thread.
  • It uses small amounts of crochet thread and any colors can be used so it is a great project to use up small amounts of crochet thread: 25 yards of body color such as copper mist, 52 yards of the main garment color such as cream, 24 yards of lace edging color such as dusty rose, and 6 yards of black for the book cover and features.
  • Washable fabric glue.
