This is a classic, simple, slightly shaped half circular shawl, that is easy enough for a beginner to do. Designed for warmth & beauty, this would make a wonderful shawl to give to anyone who needs a fiber hug. Any yarn heavier than a fingering weight will work beautifully, just be sure to save enough yarn for the border. Once the pattern is established, you continue increasing every row until the shawl is desired size. You then work a single crochet sideways border, utilizing short rows so the border lays flat. The title comes from a local lake. Thanks to redcurlysue, honeystalks, frogsalad, blogstarr, agd509, bjclark63, & harnish408 for their test crocheting skills, and thanks to and thanks to Susan Moskwa ( for her wonderful tech editing skills. Anastacia Knits Designs
My name is Anastacia, and I am the scrap yarn/one skein queen. I buy my yarn mainly at yard sales/thrift stores, so I got used to making do with what I could find. So most of my patterns are designed to use up the odd skeins or leftovers in your life, and are geared towards beginner crocheters or those who just want a fast, easy, but still pretty item. I'm a 30 something adult living in MA. I’m married, have a wonderful cat named Wedgie, & I work full time. I also teach knitting & crocheting at my local Michael's & squeeze in designing as many hours as I can a week. I do love to hear from everyone, but please remember that I am busy, just like you, & will reply as soon as I can. All of my patterns use USA terms & abbreviations. I try to layout my patterns as simply as possible to save money for people printing at home. My patterns are as short as possible, usually with only one photo on the first page, which you can easily skip printing to save ink. .
