PATTERN DETAILS

Declan Dragonfly pattern creates a very special toy. The crocheted fabric is both textured and durable. The head of the dragonfly is sized to snugly fit a 1.5" diameter rattle insert. When stuffed with polyester fibrefill, it is very light for small hands. This piece is worked in 5 pieces: head & body, and the four wings. This toy is crocheted "in the round" and in a continuous spiral. A stitch marker, such as a piece of contrasting yarn placed at either the beginning or the end of the round can help keep track of round in the spiral. The round stitch count (number of stitches in the round) is given in brackets at the end of most rounds.. Stuff as you go. Finish this toy by sewing the wings on the body and embroidering the eyes. --- WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW --- 1. This pattern is written in clear, North American terms. 2. Stitches Used: Bobble Stitch (Bo), chain (ch), single crochet (sc), single crochet decrease (sc2tog), slip stitch (sl st) 3. Instructions given for all stitches 4. The pattern is sized to fit a 1.5" diameter rattle insert in the head. I have been crocheting since my babysitter sat her down one afternoon when I was 7 years old. More than 22 years later, I still loves to pick up a hook and yarn. all items made are her own original patterns. I have two degrees (B.Sc. and M.Sc) in Biology. My university career taught me to be observant (the critical eye) and I use everyday observations, math, and my imagination when creating new designs.
