Ahoy! Wouldn't this smiling skull and crossbones applique look great on a tote bag or skirt? Although the shaping is a bit complicated, the glittery silver applique is crocheted entirely using simple chain, single crochet, and slip stitches. Make several and really get your pirate on! US crochet terminology. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Chain stitch (ch). Slip stitch (sl st). Single crochet (sc). GAUGE 17 sc = 2" (5cm), 17 rows = 2" (5 cm) SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Skull: Approx 4 3/4" (12 cm) high x 3 1/2" (9 cm) wide. Crossbones: Approx 6" (15 cm) long x 1 1/4" (3 cm) wide. SUGGESTED YARN 100 yards of Lace weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Royale
