PATTERN DETAILS

Serve up a cold glass of milk and some fresh-baked cookies on these simple reversible woven-look placemats. These versatile placemats could be made in any color combination to fit your decor. These are not as complicated as they look! The reversible design is achieved by alternating rows of tan with medium blue, using a combination of sc and long hdc which are worked into the previous row. The long hdc are worked with tan on odd rows and medium blue on even rows creating the reversible effect. A length of thread is left at each end of the rows for the fringed placemat; the ends are woven in for the bordered placemat. The placemats are worked with two strands of thread held together. A design chart is also included with the pattern. This pattern is written in U.S. terms. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You should already know how to ch, sl st, sc, hdc and dc. I have always loved crafting! My mom and I learned to crochet together when I was 12 because there was a crocheted vest I wanted to make. We worked through it and figured it out together. I have been crocheting ever since. I started writing down patterns when making snowflakes, one of my favorite projects to make. I love working on any kind of thread crochet project such as connect as you go motifs, filet crochet, etc. My other favorite crochet projects are working on my reversible designs. I also enjoy cross stitch and knitting. Someday I hope to learn quilting and tatting.
