I designed this one after thinking about hexies and granny squares, wondering if I could come up with other shapes. Pentagon was the first shape I came up with. The border has pentagons in it too. I've included detailed instructions for the joining method I came up with, and also the border in the 14 pages of the pattern. I've included close up pictures of each square and each step of the joining and border. I used gorgeous soft bamboo cotton yarn. I am so glad I did - it feels divine. I'm really happy how it turned out. I hope you enjoy the pattern. I used 8 ply bamboo cotton yarn with a 5 mm crochet hook, but you can use any yarn and hook combination. Probably not for a beginner. Great for the intermediate and advanced crocheters. The finished size of the pictured blanket is approx 38 inches from a corner to the middle of the opposite side. Hi! I'm Shelley. Nice to see you. :) I live in a small town in country Victoria, Australia. I have made many different things for many years, but my current obsession is crochet design. I love to design crochet patterns that extend your skills, gently challenging and encouraging you to create classic, timeless crochet pieces. I get a real kick out of seeing folks create beautiful crochet items they thought were beyond their skills. If you can crochet a granny square, you can do my patterns, if you’re willing to learn and have a go. I always provide lots of support with links to videos, step by step photos and clear instructions. I love nothing more than sitting down with some yarn, a hook and a fresh page in my notebook to design a new pattern. Seamless crochet is my thing. I try my best to make the changes between rounds as invisible as possible. To hear about new patterns, free patterns, hints & tips, sign up to my newsletter : Thanks for stopping by :)
