This is based on another free hat pattern I made for me which I can't find. I re-sized for an 18" doll because it is quick and easy but mostly to use up all the smaller amounts of yarn I had laying around that I didn't want to throw away. You can change colors as go and embellish it with almost anything! I hope you like it! This is for just the hat. Please, let me know if you have any questions. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Slip stitch single crochet double crochets together half double crochet GAUGE didn't's not supper important as long as it fits on the doll's head. I learned to sew in the 8th grade. As I got older I collected fabric but could never find the time or energy to sew. Between a full time job, single parent of two boys, one of which has Asperger's (Autism) and the rest of life we MUST attend to, I just learned to find pleasure in the idea of being able to make all these grand ideas floating in my head. I learned to knit & crochet (via the internet) because I wanted to add special details to my sewn items and that was something I could do on the metro train ride to and from work. I then got laid off from my IT support job in 2011 and decided to keep busy while I looked for a new job. This gave me the time and energy to not just be with my sons but my fabric, too! So here I am, now. I like to make things from store bought patterns but I find that I tend to mix and match and change them. I decided to try my hand a creating patterns. I hope you like them. I have also created a new WASHABLE HAND HELD FAN! You can find it at
