At a time when the crocodile stitch is popular, it seems everybody is designing their own pattern for a crocodile stitch baby bootie. So I decided to write my own version of the croc baby bootie and literallly have it look like a 'grown up' boot. I feel that the pattern is easy to follow and most likely someone with an intermediate skill level can work this one. I only set it as an ADVANCED skill level due to the difficulty with twisting and turning the bootie to get the crocodile stitch accomplished. As with all of my patterns, if you purchase a pattern that's within your skill level and have difficulty, you are free to contact me and I'll walk you through the area you're having complications with. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY ch, sc, dc, crocodile stitch (explained in pattern) Pattern Reading GAUGE The sole measures approximately 3 inches, but I crochet tight so yours may come out a bit bigger and you may need to switch to a smaller hook. I've been crocheting, tatting and knitting since 1966. With crochet, I immediately took to designing and that's where I derive most of my pleasure in the crochet world. I've also been teaching fiber arts professionally since 2008. Of course, I've taught since way before that, but just not for pay. :) Some of the most pleasurable moments in designing is when I develop a pattern stitch that I've never seen before. I immediately start putting together patterns using those stitches and have "in the works" the start of many books with patterns and tutorials. I always guarantee my patterns. If you purchase one of my patterns and you're skill level is within that set by my pattern skill level, I will gladly work with you till you understand not only what the pattern is saying, but also how to do what the pattern is saying. So, what have you got to lose?
