This cute, lightweight vest is versatile for different sizes, as it uses the bust measurement to determine the overall size. It is suggested to use soft worsted weight yarn. The crochet vest uses motifs to make up the yoke and the bodice is done in a openwork stitch. Supplies: Measuring Tape; Yarn Needle; Eight ¾” (2 cm) Shank Buttons, Scissors Hooks: 5.0 mm (H). 5.5mm (I) and 6.0mm (J) optional, but recommended Sizes: To determine size, measure recipient’s bust. Yarn: Soft Worsted yarn (ex: Red Heart Soft or Caron Simply Soft) Skeins: 600 yards for a 36 inch (91 cm) Bust. More or less yardage depending on size needed. Gauge: Each motif must be 1/8 of recipient’s Bust + Ease. Ease can be 1 to 4 inches (3 to 10 cm) as desired. Determine gauge by dividing Bust Measurement + Ease by 8. Hook size and/or number of rounds can adjust the size of motif.
