I was inspired by a vintage pattern first published in 1895 in The Art of Crocheting. I have rewritten the pattern using fiber and hook sizes that are widely accessible today while maintaining the integrity of the original design. I present to you the modern Star Fascinator! A pretty head scarf. A small shawl. A large shawl. A pattern that works well in acrylic. It still looks good after you have thrown it in the dryer. A pattern that looks lovely in lace weight. Bead it. Use unusual yarn. Stripe it. It has so many possibilities. This is a perfect prayer shawl or gift to someone in an assisted care facility. It is a long shallow triangle. Pretty enough to make any wearer feel gorgeous! The pattern is fairly dense and so this can be a warmer shawl if made from a heavier fiber. This pattern can be made any size and use any yarn. It is one of those wonderful patterns that is completely adaptable and still looks great! This pattern contains written instructions and charts. I have been crocheting for 40 years. It is a craft that I want to promote and encourage in everyone that loves to create. I especially like to bring the antique patterns and techniques forward in time and make them accessible to new crocheters.
