Pattern Details

When my daughter was small, she dreamed of being a mermaid and becoming "part of that world". With lots of sparkle, jewel-tones of the sea, and fin-like texture the MERMAID ME BLANKET can bring your little one's imagination to life! Worked in simple motifs and then joined-as-you-go, constructing the tail is very easy. The sparkly fringe is crocheted right along with the border to make it even simpler. Lots of pictures, diagrams and special notes will help you make a mermaid tail blanket that will transform your little loved one into a sparkly MERMAID and be treasured for years to come! Detailed pattern includes: --special notes, stitch abbreviations and complete materials list --alternate yarn suggestions --join-as-you-go instructions, diagrams and explanations for putting it all together --a picture section for additional help, if needed. (Doesn't need to be printed to complete pattern as written.) Yarn Substitutions: Red Heart Unforgettable in Dragonfly and Tidal (or other colors) make a lovely variegated color scheme as shown in the final picture; any worsted weight or DK yarns in your choice of colors can also be used The pattern does NOT include instructions for making it bigger, however, if you are confident you might consider adding rows for height and columns for width if making it for a larger person (shown draped over the lap of a 7-year old). This pattern makes a blanket that drapes over the lap, NOT a cocoon. Due to the nature of patterns, this pattern may not be returned or exchanged. All sales are final. Cheerful, Creative, Crocheter and Collector of all things Colorful describes me to a C--er, I mean a T. My sweet, left-handed granny taught me (a righty) to crochet when I was but a youngster. My first project was a hideously long scarf for my dad. It seems I just didn't know when to stop--something my teachers told me in school, too! Although crochet and other craftiness have always been part of my life, I channeled my energy and creativity into teaching Jr. High and High School sciences for many years. When I am not "yarning" (as described by my youngest), I treasure time with my family, friends, running, thrift store shopping, and learning new creative skills.
