ABOUT THE DESIGN: Levi the Baby Bear was born and raised in Jo's Home, but he has recently discovered the beauty of Northern Californian forests! In the forest, he met a new friend and decided to make that his new home. Now every once in a while, our family will drive out there to visit him and watch how happily he climbs trees and hunts for fish. Several designers from around the world got together to work with Joke Vermeiren (a graphic designer/publisher in Belgium) to create a pattern book filled with super cute animals. In 2012, our first indie project, a book called Zoomigurumi, was born! :D Since then, more books have been published, and a few of my patterns appear in them. Helloooo! I'm currently working hard toward becoming an elementary school teacher (my #1 passion) -- I've been taking classes, working as a substitute teacher, volunteering as a Girl Scout leader, studying for exams, volunteering at an elementary school, and working as a group tutor. In between all of this, I try to remember to BREATHE and make some time to get away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. In these moments, I dive into another passion of mine -- creating. Whether I'm crocheting, sewing, sculpting, drawing, or painting, the act of creating something unique and special is rejuvenating and rewarding. I've fallen head over heels with amigurumi (the Japanese art of crocheting/knitting cute, anthropomorphic creatures) for a few years now, and the process of designing/creating new soft sculptures has brought me great happiness. Each creation means a lot to me, so I hope that my designs bring the same joy to you and your loved ones. :)
