Skill Level: Intermediate These pretty crocheted fingerless mitts feature a feminine lace cuff making them both stylish and practical. Instructions are written for one size (Ladies size S/M), but the post stitches allow for lots of stretch. The finished mitt is 6.5" in circumference but they stretch to fit 7.5" and they are 7" long. This crochet pattern calls for a 3.25 mm (D) crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge), and 11/2 balls of Drops(r) Alpaca. Please note that Drops(r) Alpaca is considered a sport weight (2) but, it works up like a fingering weight (1) so Berroco(r) Ultra Alpaca Fine makes for an excellent substitute yarn. The pattern includes detailed instructions, colour illustrations and a chart to help you with the lacy cuff section of the pattern. The mitt is worked in the round from the bottom up. The thumb is constructed separately and then sewn on. Skills and techniques used are: sc, hdc, dc, front and back post stitches, and working in the back hump of the starting chain.
