This pattern was inspired by beautiful Vancouver Island. It is perfect to slip on and take a stroll along harbour. It is very casual and friendly like people on the islands and keeps you warm from crisp wind from the ocean and nautical winds. Front and back post double crochet stitches and treble crochet stitch may sound a bit scary but this is a straight forward and simple design. These 2 stitches add just a right amount of depth to the scarf, too. It is a great quick weekend project that you can show off on the same weekend! The stitches used in this pattern are double crochet, front and back post double crochet, and slip stitch. You will be working in Rounds for this pattern. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic crochet stitch front/back post stitch GAUGE Gauge is not critical for this pattern. Cowl shown in photo was made with Aran weight yarn and its gauge was 8 stitches x 4 rows in 2 inches. SUGGESTED YARN 250 yards of Worsted weight

Supplies Needed

  • Worsted or Aran weight yarn (approx. 250 yards)

Sewing and crocheting are just two of my love and passions. Sewing....because of my grandmother who's shown me the joy of making and creating beautiful things with hands in each of our ordinary, yet, exceptionally extraordinary lives by sewing. Crocheting....because of how I can turn a simple string of yarn into something real pretty AND its mobility! which fits my busy days between work, kids, errands, and bunch of other things. I've recently decided to devote more time into my passions and started KUWA. I love functional design with simple lines that carries just a right amount of feminine touch. All my patterns are beginner to intermediate skill levels, in other words, easy to make and great for weekend projects! and requires no fuss to impress :) I love the mobility of most of my crochet patterns are made with simple repetition that can tote around anywhere you go.
