I think I should have been born around the turn of the century so I could have taken full advantage of the fabulous styles of the 20s, 30s and 40s. This dress is something I've been wanting to make for a while now, a flapper style dress with luscious lace, light and cool for summer, utterly customizable, I wear it over a black tank top and black knee length leggings. Its meant to fit loosely, in the true flapper style, so should have plenty of positive ease. This pattern is suitable for advanced beginners/intermediates. There is no increasing/decreasing, no shaping whatsoever! Also, this pattern doesn't take forever to finish, thanks to the openwork. I used Frog Tree Pima Cotton Yarn, in the gold/camel colored shade. I love to crochet, can't seem to stop doing it since I learned to single crochet in college 11 years ago to keep from falling asleep in a 7 AM class. It was all down hill from there.....or maybe its all been uphill since then?!?!?! Not sure, just know I love my hooks and don't see myself letting them go any time soon. I am a huge fan of vintage styles, the roaring 20s, 30s and 40s in particular, so you'll find some influence from those periods in my designs, but also tons of other things. Feminine, fun, useful, and as much as possible, versatility in function, are the things that always seem to crop up in my patterns.
