In my search for a Granny Hexagon to make blankets for my girls, I just couldn't find one that I really LOVED. Then I realized that there were some gorgeous crocheted flowers with six sides, and I could make a hex from one of those. So this pattern was born. I created the blanket seen in the pictures for my daughter, Vada. It has provided much warmth, love, and tons of fun blanket fort time! The little holes throughout the grannies keep blanket forts light, but still private, what more could you want?! This lovely hexagon granny blanket is easy to make with many step by step pictures accompanying the written pattern. Instructions for optional dimensional flowers within the hexagons are also included. Always feel free to contact me at with any questions and I will get back to you ASAP. You can also visit me at my Jessie At Home Facebook page: BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY sl st ~ slip stitch ch ~ chain hdc ~ half double crochet dc ~ double crochet GAUGE There really is no gauge here. You can use any yarn you want and the hook that works best with the yarn. As with most granny blankets, just use as many blocks as you need to make the size blanket you want. Have fun with it, I know I did!

Supplies Needed

  • Sample was made with 4.5mm (US7) hook, but use the size hook that works with the yarn you choose.
  • Just about any yarn works! Though DK, sport, or worsted are recommended. This sample was made with Lion Brand Cotton Ease
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
