I wanted to do another easy skirt that required no actual increases or decreases, just hook changes. I wanted it airy and fun to wear yet graceful and sexy. Garden Gate AKA Got Curves does all of that. You have a choice of three waistbands. Elastic with bias tape casing to keep it from being bulky at thte waist yet swing freely. You can also use the instructions for a drawstring with casing, or just a drawstring woven through the waist. Any way you do it, you end up with a comfortable and non bulky flattering fit. I put wooden beads on the bottom of the skirt just for the fun of it although this is really not required. The length is just below knee length. I started crocheting when I was about 8 years old. I remember my grandmother was very religious and stood by the standard of no work on Sundays. I was caught designing a dress for a doll and got in serious trouble because to her it was work. To me it was fun! Serious difference of opinion there! I have been designing and crocheting since then, I picked up sewing at 10. My first project was a pair of pants that I sewed the fronts together and the backs together instead of a front to a back. Very awkward, but I finally figured it out! Now I make and design most of my own clothes in either medium and often put the two together to create something special.
