Adding to the variety of variations on Maylin Tan's knitted Wingspan pattern, here is a double-ended Tunisian pattern. Double-ended Tunisian crochet alternates between the ends of the crochet hook and two different yarns. The resulting fabric will have one yarn dominant on one side and the other yarn dominant on the other. For the best results select highly complementary/contrasting yarns. This pattern can be adapted to any weight of yarn and size of hook desired. Simply adjust the number of stitches at the beginning of each triangle to the desired length. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Chain Tunisian Simple Stitch Slip Stitch GAUGE 22 sts and 24 rows = 4" in Tss (exact gauge is not essential). SUGGESTED YARN 700 yards of Fingering weight

Recommended with this pattern

  • Double-Ened Tunisian Hook US E-4 (3.5mm)
  • Yarn needle

Taking the steps to become a professional crochet designer was more an act of unemployed desperation than inspiration. None the less, taking the craft to this higher level has brought a tremendous sense of fulfillment to my intellectual love of geometry and spiritual desire for artistic creation along with finding an unexpected use of my education in writing and editing.
