It all started when I got the idea to make my original Dragon Scale Shrug. I had just discovered the Crocodile stitch and though it would make an awesome shrug because the stitch made me think of dragon scales. With that I mind, I thought of my daughter. She was 16 at the time and was really into The Game of Thrones and the character of Daenerys Targaryen. My daughter also has the "look" of the Khaleesi to her. In my opinion, anyway. So, I got a ball of thread and began designing. Once I finished the first sleeve, she pointed out that it was "too loose" for her liking, and began describing to me what she would like in a shrug. So as I worked on and finished the Dragon Scale shrug, I wrote down notes on what she told me for the design for this one. Before the origi-nal was finished though, I asked her what color she wanted, and she said green because she thought of green dragon scales. When I came across the Patons Lace color Sachet, a lovely variegated green and purple, I sent a photo of it to her and she loved it. Because of her involvement in the design of this pattern, I give her credit along with myself as co-designer and dedicate this pattern to her.
