I was visiting Suman aunty day before and showing her some of the decorative (Easter) baskets I'd made - (in an aside, she is all of 80+, but not just loves craft, is also very adept at it.. and I'd just given her my pattern for the basket too) [Do visit my page at] So, she then said she'd love a small 'bag/pouch' to keep her cheque book - so what's simpler and easier than a small granny squared pouch.. so here goes. Now here the amount of yarn used is approximate, as I've used up lots of bits & pieces, and then used the crochet needle that worked with that. As its a stash buster, yarn used need not be fingering or light fingering, though it would help if all the yarn used is of the same type (thickness), so you have even squares at the end! Not sure why they're called 'granny'.. they're old, sure.. but oh gosh! They're invaluable.. oh, yep.. I see why they're named "Granny" now !! :) So with a three-round granny square, and a variable number of squares, you have a pouch done up in a day.. and it's not just a great gift, but a superb stash buster :) This pattern uses basic stitches to quickly whip together a cute little pouch. Here I've made it with just 9 little squares, but you could add squares to increase both length and width of this pouch with ease. It has so many uses.. can be used to hold nappies for a short trip.. or using just 3 squares, your tiny pouch could hold your hand tissues in your purse .. or it could be a cute little purse for your little girl and her doll.. The possibilities are endless.. curbed only by your imagination! So go ahead.. enjoy Do let me know how you liked the pattern :) BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY ch, sc, dc magic circle (link given in pattern) sc crochet join or whip st join (Link given in pattern) GAUGE not critical SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS free size, but the pattern is for (L) 6.5" x (W) 4.5" SUGGESTED YARN 175 yards of Fingering weight
