I recently moved to a new home and was working on putting in my flower beds - and putting up bird houses for the blue birds. Easter was around the corner and I wanted to design an Easter chick - which was the first but then I decided to change his color and legs to make peeps colors - and to not just be a chicken! I love Chicka Chickah (say that like Yello's "Oh Yeah" song) The tail feathers will always be perfectly placed since they are done while you are making the body! My testers loved that! This original CraftyDeb crochet amigurumi pattern is designed by Deb Richey. All CraftyDeb patterns are for personal use only and not for resale or selling finished items online. They can be made for in person craft shows and fairs. Your Craftsy purchase will also be made available for download on my main website at BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY single crochet, single crochet decrease, half double crochet, double crochet, chain stitch, slip stitch GAUGE There is no gauge given however the tighter your stitches, the less stuffing will show through. If you can see air between your stitches, use a smaller hook. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 6 1/2" tall for tallest Chick when made with worsted weight.

Recommended with this pattern

  • 1 oz yarn - main color
  • 1/2 oz yarn - legs, beak
  • small amount of yarn for wing if second color is desired
