PATTERN DETAILS

This unique design creates 4 different sizes of heart ornaments, decorations, or appliques, simply by ending at any of the 4 noted rounds. You may fasten off and change color at the end of every round if desired. Last page of pattern includes photos after every rnd. Leave thread versions soft to use as a coaster or applique, or starch to use as a hanging ornament or window decoration. There are instructions on my website for my favorite starching method. http://carascrochet.weebly.com/1/post/2013/02/starching-thread-crochet-pieces.html Make in worsted weight cotton yarn for a special face wash cloth, or whip stitch 2 together around the edges or work last round through both layers for a pretty hot pad. Fasten a special bead or button in the very center to create a special Valentine's Day decoration or to show love to someone any time of year! Heritage Heartcraft
~Heritage Heartcraft, heirloom quality thread crochet by Cara Louise Reitbauer~ I have been crocheting since about 1974 at age 8 when my mother taught me with regular yarn and larger crochet hooks. A year or so later, she found a bag that had been her mother's which contained some gorgeous doilies her mother had made, along with some skinny crochet thread and some impossibly small steel crochet hooks. I fell in love on the spot, created my very first doily without any pattern by copying one of hers, using her hooks and her thread. I have been designing and crafting small articles such as doilies, coasters, snowflakes and angels ever since! (Although I do confess to using patterns too!) Every time I make something I feel a kinship with the grandmother I was never able to meet, and so her spirit is alive in me- all these years later, and still use her hooks, which are now over 60 years old! I've got sites all over the web!
