This halfcircle shawl is worked in Tunisian simple stitch with a small border. This lightly patterned border is worked sideways and attached to the main shawl as you go. Finally, a picot edge with beads is worked using regular crochet, weighing down the edge. With all these bordering features, it is possible to use a non-woolen yarn for this shawl " it will look great without blocking and the edges won(tm)t curl! [This pattern features US crochet terms] BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Tunisian simple stitch increasing, decreasing working with beads GAUGE 4 inch (10 cm) = 23 stitches and 23 rows worked in Tunisian simple stitch, unblocked (gauge is not crucial on this project. If you use a different gauge, it should be on the looser side. Please note that a different gauge also affects the finished size and yardage). SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS any - sample has a wingspan of 43 inch (110 cm)
