Skill Level: Easy/Intermediate Find a knit pattern version of the basket here: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/knitting/home-decor/knit-owl-basket/186906 This monochromatic owl basket is simple and chic with a twist. It's generous size (28 inches around by 12 inches high) can hold three full size rolled up towels. But don't stop there! Use it to hold toys in the kid's room, or odds and ends in the living room. Using thick yarn it is sturdy and can stand up on it's own, yet can collapse flat when not needed. Recommended Yarn approx. 950 yards of bulky yarn (4 strands will be held together to make basket) Note: you can half the yardage by using super bulky yarn and holding two strands Recommended Hook 10mm (US letter sizes vary for this mm size. Choose the hook that says 10mm) Finished Size 12" high x 28" around The basket pattern is in .pdf format so you will need Adobe Reader to open the document and print it. Just a quick reminder, this is my original design and this pattern is not to be copied and reproduced for monetary purposes, I'd love if you made as many as you liked for yourself or to give as gifts, or even sell for profit (see my shop policies for more info on this), but please do not make copies of the pattern. Thanks! From the time I learned from my great-grandmother until now — over 25 years. Actual time crocheting (my 20s were a blur of school, work and debt, having a stash was not an option)– probably about 15. How’d you start designing? I got pregnant. I picked up the hook to make some stuff. I realized I liked designing rather than following a pattern, now I’ve been doing it over 6 years. Favorite yarn? Self striping in beautiful vibrant colors Where ya from? I spent the better part of my life in Southern California, and while I miss Disneyland and the predictable weather, I find that moving around from place to place a more interesting adventure. Currently I’m living with my family in the Bay Area but that will probably soon change as my husband’s military orders do. Update: I’m not back in Southern California for at least the next year. We’ll see where the Navy takes us next.
