Shoyu Ramen

Share a little about the ingredients and techniques used to create this dish/item. I created this delicious Shoyu Ramen recipe for my Asian Noodle Essentials class by braising the pork belly in a delicious sauce made of sake, soy sauce, sugar, ginger and Japanese scallions. The pork belly is placed over a yummy shoyu broth with ramen noodles along with other authentic toppings.

Wow, This looks delicious! Its really great to learn about different varieties of noodles! Will you be teaching how to make the home made stocks for each of these dishes? However would you be recommending any stock cubes that we can use for these dishes too? Do you consider all these dishes healthy?! :) I look forward to join this class soon! Thank you

Hi there! I do show how to make dashi for the ramen recipe but for the other recipes, I suggest using homemade chicken broth or store bought. I prefer using canned broth rather than cubed but the Better Than Bouliion brand of stock concentrate works in a pinch. For the most part, the recipes are quite healthy requiring little oil. Hope you enjoy the class! Katie
