Share a little about the ingredients and techniques used to create this dish/item. 1 x sponge cake baked in a pudding basin and 1 x cake baked in a large cappuccino cup, both split and filled / coated with vanilla buttercream. Sugarpaste (fondant) coloured in 3 different shades of pink, small amount blue and black sugarpaste, a few strawberry choc buttons. A royal icing run out butterfly, heart crimper, metal flower cutter. What are you most proud of? How cute it looked when finished. This is a great cake for a small child. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have a go, it was fairly straightforward to do - I find Debbie Brown's insrtuctions very clear. Place the 2 cakes next to each other on your chosen board (I used an upturned tray covered in dark pink paste and decorated the edge with a heart crimper, then gently pressed a flower cutter randomly over the surface.) Cover both of the two cakes together with a lighter pink paste. At this stage it didn't look that good, but when I started adding the ears and paws etc. it became very cute. Add eyes and the collar. I decorated the collar with pink chocolate buttons, but you could use any sweets, or leave it plain. The paws, nose and tail are sugarpaste. I have seen another version of this cake (possibly on Craftsy or CakeCentral? ) where instead of random spots, the dog had little hearts on it, which looked gorgeous. The butterfly was one I had made a while ago - you could leave this off, or perhaps replace with a flower, insect or ball etc.
