Mother's Butter, Tomato and Onion Sauce

Share a little about the ingredients and techniques used to create this dish/item. I used pureed tomatoes. I was a little skeptical on how this was going to taste. I don't like using canned or even jarred tomatoes. I wasn't able to find whole tomatoes in a jar, and just couldn't feed canned tomatoes to my family so opted for pureed tomato. It had an acidic smell while it cooked like canned tomatoes but I just crossed my fingers and it turned out amazing! It was the most delicious pasta I've had and so easy! I couldn't find artisan pasta that was thin so used parpadelle instead. This was my first time eating egg pasta, I usually get whole wheat and it was love at first bite!
