Christmas Turkey Pot Pie

Project Description

Share a little about the ingredients and techniques used to create this dish/item. I made a rich gravy with the drippings (reduced) from roasted turkey. Then I arranged lightly cooked potatoes, carrots, celery and onions in a deep dish with chunks of the turkey. The crust is made with flour, butter, cream cheese and salt. The pot pie with snowflakes is made with a filling of swedish meatballs with gravy and vegetables. It also has a cream cheese crust and making a pot pie with meatballs was my son's idea. These are a nice way to make dinner for a crowd ahead of time and saves on clean up. The family loves them! The photos show the pies before baking. I forgot to record them after and then they were consumed! What are you most proud of? That the food wasn't only tasty but was pretty. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't worry about a recipe. Reduce your broth all day. Make it rich and tasty. Make the gravy thick and put in whatever vegies you want. There are good basic crust recipes on the internet. This crust only goes on top so is very easy.
