White Candy Roses/Callas

Project Description

What was your inspiration? I made Candy clay or some call "modeling chocolate" to make the roses and leaves on this cake. Not sure if craftsy has a class on making flowers out of candy clay but they should because it's fun, easy and tastes amazing! This cake is iced in buttercream with fondant draping. Thanks for looking! Lisa :)

Totally beautiful, have to say I love the cakes you do, did you make these roses? If so what from are they white chocolate? I desperatly need inspiration for a wedding cake for next June and this is looking very close to perfect. I would love some more info please.
lisascakes answered:
Yes, I made the roses and leaves. First you make candy clay - wilton has a recipe on their website and in their yearbooks. It's very easy to make using the candy melts and corn syrup. It will be very hard at first but the warmth of your hand softens it quickly. I then can flatten it out and use gumpaste rose cutters to make the individual petals. It doesn't take many petals to get a good rose with this technique. I store them in the fridge until ready to put on the cake. Hope this helps! Lisa
