Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Mixture of homemade MMF(marshmallow fondant) and FondX, gum paste to stabilize the candle/flame, disco dust on the flame, bling/glam ribbon/wrap for cakes. The Mickey Mouse emblem was gum paste and removable/keepsake for our scrapbook. What are you most proud of? This is my first attempt at wonky/topsy turvy cakes. When I first started practicing/making custom cakes almost 2 years ago, I said I would never even offer these kinds of cakes because I didn't think I had the skill-set...goes to show one should ever underestimate God, or themselves. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Look online or in a craft store for a color wheel. I always have one around/saved in my photo album when combining colors to see what naturally or most harmoniously coalesces. Purchase a clear gold disco dust and once the flame is dry, brush edible glue on the orange part and sprinkle the disco lightly on the orange...it is very luminescent/apropos for this cake.
