Tower cake for Amie

Project Description

What was your source for this recipe? Improvisational Do you sell this cake? No, just for fun Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake The base of the cake is a dark chocolate mud cake, filled and covered with dark chocolate ganache, and then covered in fondant. I cooled and smoothed the ganache to create a stable, smooth surface to place the fondant on. The tower is made from a swiss roll filled and covered with strawberry white chocolate ganache, and as before I cooled and smoothed the ganache to create a smooth surface for the fondant covering. The roof of the tower is a small butter cake, carved into a cone shape and covered with ganache and then fondant. All of the decorations are made from fondant, with some hand pained element, such as on the door and the flag. What are you most proud of? The fact that it didn't fall over! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure you use a small cake board for the tower for stability at the base.
