It was covered with orange flavored white fondant. The snowflake extensions were hand piped royal icing. What are you most proud of? We had to transport this cake 250 miles to the wedding location. In order to do so, we built cake carriers from household materials, drove the fondant covered cakes to my mother's house which was 20 miles or so from the wedding. I attached the snowflakes there and we drove it to the location where we had to carry the cakes into the hall, 30 feet from the driveway, amidst howling winter winds and swirling snow. We managed to get it into the hall and only broke 1 or 2 snowflakes, which I replaced with extras. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Give yourself lots of time to make the snowflakes. Use my templates and work quickly but steadily.
