Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake See Jacqueline Butler's Craftsy course. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you can make the roses (or any other flower for that matter), this is a pretty easy cake to make. Just takes a long time to place the rose petals on the bottom tier - one at a time.

What you will need

cake_tionary asked:
so beautiful!will try the bottom tier with those petals for sure! have to figure out how to make those petals first!:)
SugarArtBySusan answered:
Petals were easy!! Just use petal cutters, place petal on foam pad (not too soft), gently use ball roller on edge to desired ruffle effect. I let my dry a minute or so (not completely) before dabbing a bit of water on one edge and adhering to cake. Size of petal cutter you use depends on how tall your layer is and how many rows you want. I just held a couple of sizes up to the cake and played around with it a bit.
