Olaf from Disney's Frozen

Project Description

Do you sell this cake? Yes Name of website or online shop Roseapple Bakery Link to website or online shop roseapplebakery.co.uk Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Olaf's head was disproportionate to the rest of his body - longer than his neck and body combined. I decided to make it out of RKT so that I could mould it to its particular shape I also made his feet out of RKT. The main body was made out of cake and it sat on a cake card. There was a central support starting from one of the legs through the cake body and the RKT neck and head. His arms and hair were made of modelling chocolate wrapped round strong wire. Nose was gumpaste. The cake was crumb coated and then covered with ganache to give it a firm base. I used a steel rod as the support and made it food safe by putting it through jumbo straws. What are you most proud of? getting the support right and nothing fell off! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be methodical and think of where the support is going to go.
