My Son's Wedding Cake

Project Description

Do you sell this cake? No, just for fun Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake This was a five day process for love and my son and his lovely bride. I actually had a difficult time finding a corded lace in local craft stores. Then I remembered that my wedding gown from 1982 had corded lace. I found my gown and removed the front lace from the bodice had used that to make the impression. I drove it one hour and assembled all five layers at the venue and attended the wedding the next day! Whew! My weakest skills are piping and after the long week it showed. Overall I was pleased with finished product. It was delicious with five flavored of cake and three buttercream flavors. Used the MAT for the first time and covering all five layers was so easy. I am a homemaker and do sell most of my cakes. What are you most proud of? The size of the project and the sugar flowers. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Practice the techniques first for days!!!
