My ocean theme wedding cakes

Project Description

Do you sell this cake? Yes Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Made this for a friend, she only wanted single layers not stacked. I used moulds for the sea shells and star fish. They were made from fondant and gum paste. I made the coral by hand using royal icing. I drew a coral and placed wax paper over the drawing and traced it with royal icing. The pearls were dipped into pearl dust that was mixed with a bit of vanilla extract. What are you most proud of? It was my own creation . What advice would you give someone starting this project? There was a lot of steps involved in making this cake. I gave my self a lot of time and prepared everything In advanced. The day before the wedding I only had to put it all together.

Thanks Wendy! I was very excited when I saw my cake being used for I Heart Cake Decorating. We are sometimes our own worse critic, seeing the feed back that I have read makes me feel more confident with what I life to do. Thanks again Evyone ( pronounced as everyone without the "er". :)
