Surviving flipping the cakes upside down. I was quite anxious about this design due to needing the cakes to be really cold. I've never put a fondant covered cake in the fridge, nor have I decorated a cake upside down. Just trust Maggie's instructions. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you can find a water pen that will probably save having to wipe your finger every time you've moistened a strip of fondant. Wet fingers lead to tears in the fondant when pulling your finger away. I also found that leaving the frilled fondant strips for a few minutes made it less worrying manoeuvring them upside down to place on the cake.
