Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Cake, fondant, icing, LOTS of modeling chocolate, rice crispy, clear colored suckers What are you most proud of? I was just pleased to come up with something to tie it all together and as random as it was, I thought it wasn't too shabby of a plan! Oh and my comment about the clear colored suckers, well I melted those down and poured them into a gem shape mold to make the double "0" in the "007" to represent the diamonds. FYI Jolly renchers are awesome at this plan too when you want to add a little glitz to your cake and it all remains edible. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure if you are making a large item out of modeling chocolate, try to come up with an additional supporting element like rice crispy. I made the reel on top using a center core made out of rice crispy and wrapped the edges with fondant to hold together and then the modeling chocolate was iced together sandwhich style. Modeling chocolate is "weather" temperamental so any heat can make thing lose it's shape, any assistance is a great helper!
