Little Princess in Paris Cake

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Vanilla cake, red velvet cake, white chocolate ganache, fondant, tylose, various decorating tools What are you most proud of? The cake as a whole! Each tier is individual - but put on top of each other & the all come together to make the theme work! I love the 3D printed Eiffel tower that my husband made me :) It's not edible - but it looks awesome on top of the cake!! My little princess also I am proud of. The mum didn't want her to look too grown up & I think I made her look 'little' enough :) I was going for a 'toddler princess' :) x What advice would you give someone starting this project? Plan well ahead & be prepared. Know exactly what you want to do & when :) Think about each tier & what you need to do to complete them, for example the bottom tier needed to be finished straight away after I covered & smoothed the fondant, as the quilting can only happen while the fondant is soft. So for that tier after covering I got straight to work & finished it. Whereas with the other tiers, I was able to cover, smooth & then put aside to dry & harden before finishing each one. Also - make sure you remember to think about how to support each tier using dowels or bubble straws etc. x
