Jordan's 1st Birthday

Do you sell this cake? Yes Link to website or online shop https://www.facebook.com/abeautifulcakedesign Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake I layered 2x 10" Vanilla Cakes and sculpted 2 muffins (for the ears) with a Buttercream filing. I coloured 2 portions of the buttercream with different shades of orange food colouring and left a third portion white. I covered the cake in buttercream according to the colour of a tiger. I then hand drew a stencil of a tiger's face, numbered each piece and took a photo. I then rolled out black flour paste in sections and cut each piece to the stencil. Finally, it was simple to lay each piece (like the photo) on top of the cake. What are you most proud of? The gun paste I cut from my handdrawn stencil. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid to free hand; cutting pieces from rolled out gum paste that isn't exactly cut to your stencil.

Q&A with A Beautiful Cake Design

TeresaA asked:
I love it
A Beautiful Cake Design answered:
Thank you :)
TFatima asked:
great hand painting! it looks amazing
A Beautiful Cake Design answered:
Hey TFatima - I appreciate the compliment, but it isn't hand painted. I coloured different shades of orange for the buttercream and used my palette knife to apply it accordingly. I then cut gum paste to a stencil I drew and laid it over the top. :)
