I Learned Stenciling -French Bible Cake

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake I used a stencil for the "LA BIBLE" words. I made the stencil using the instructions from the modern piping class. What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my stenciling, because this was my first time creating a stencil. I am also proud of the leather look I achieved, because that is the effect I was striving for. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be open minded to changes in your original plan/design along the way. Some things pose a greater challenge than you anticipate and you may have to alter your plan/design a bit.

Q&A with Touch of Grace Cakes

linpiration asked:
This is amazing...I read it too. This is very inspiring and I hope others think so too. God bless you for making this Bible cake and for not using a book that promotes worldly values like a Harry Potter book. Keep up God's work!
Touch of Grace Cakes answered:
Thank you so much. This cake was ordered by a church member for her Pastor. I am happy to say that the Pastor was elated about his cake, and felt blessed to have this made especially for him.

Amazing!!! I would love to do this for some pastors and Clergy in the church Where to get the stencil kit???
Touch of Grace Cakes answered:
I made the stencil myself from stencil sheets I bought at Michael's. But you can easily make a stencil from paper. Just print what you want and cut out the words.
kathleenm1193521 asked:
Great job! How did you get that leather texture look please? I want to make a Bible also. Thanks.
Touch of Grace Cakes answered:
Thank you Kathleen. I bought a piece of material from Joanne's that had the texture I was looking for, and embossed the fondant with it. Then I used an edible lacquer spray to get the sheen. Hope this helps.
