The gumpaste orchids that were all hand made, and the freehand paisleys that I piped with black royal icing on pure white fondant. That was a bit nerve wrecking! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take the online course, like Joshua''s Modern Piping and Jaqueline Butler's Sugar Flowers. Also read up on tips and advice and have everything planned out and scheduled. Also make extra flowers! They break easily.

Thanks, it means a lot coming from you! I started the paisleys using your pinning method, but I was having a problem with it denting the cake, so I just decided to go for it! I hope to get a request for a damask cake so I can try your stenciling method also!
