It was a bit of a challenge to do, but so much fun! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Start WAY in advance. The figures are all made out of fondant and gumpaste, and took quite a long time to put together.

What you will need

Could you please give an advice on how you did the splatter effect on the cake, Pretty Please!!
Janci76 answered:
I made royal icing in each color and then thinned it down to paint consistency. Then I took paint brushes and a tooth brush, dipped them in the icing, and then ran my finger or thumb down the bristles to flip the icing onto the cake. I also just flicked my wrist on some of it and the icing flew onto the cake (those are the bigger streaks). I would suggest doing this out of doors, or in some place you don't mind being really messy for a long time. I believe this cake was done in 2011 and I am still finding pink icing spots high up on my kitchen cupboards. I did try with the other colors to keep it contained by placing the cake slightly into a rubbermaid storage container, but it was only somewhat effective. Still cleaned a lot of icing out of my kitchen. :) Good luck! Happy cake-ing!
