Though you can't see in the photos, I was very excited to use Jessica's techniques to get the fondant on the bottom and top tiers pretty smooth. The stripes still need work. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Start your figure earlier than 11 pm the night before the party. I started the cake a week before and had heaps of time to deal with the ganache and fondant.
