Hot Pink Corset with Edible Lace

Project Description

Do you sell this cake? Yes Name of website or online shop www.nhweddingcakes.com Link to website or online shop www.nhweddingcakes.com Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake First time I've ever tried a sculpted cake this big made of Rice Krispy Treats and I was pretty anxious. The corset was made of RKT covered in Royal (still too lumpy) followed by a thin blanket of white fondant then colored fondant so it was pretty heavy. The Bride-to-be had only one request, that it had to be HOT pink and her Mom said it had to be tasteful - not raunchy. :-) I used my new sugar lace mold and Sugar Dress liquid to make the lace panels that were eventually cut down to size. Since it wouldn't be eaten I was able to use rhinestones for even more bling. The base it's on is a hatbox cake (real cake, covered in fondant and edible lace panels. The backdrop was made to look like the corset was for sale in a boutique shop window. This was for a bridal shower last weekend 5/14. So happy with how it turned out and so wasn't the customer. Stretch yourself, you'll always end up surprised at what you've learned. And that's why I'm a frequent purchaser of Craftsy Classes.
